Wild Acre Art
Wild Acre Art

Wild Acre Art Classes have been run in Chenies by its founder Nan Howe since 1982 when Nan and her husband Bill moved into the village from Northwood. Prior to this Nan had set up her painting classes in 1971, at her Northwood home “Wild Acre” following a single enquiry from a friend who asked to be taught how to paint.  Nan gladly offered to help on a voluntary basis – however word got around and it quickly grew in size as neighbours enrolled and after a few weeks they all voluntered to pay for these lessons.

Classes run throughout the year - covering acrylics, drawing (charcoal), water colours and pastels. Students come from Chenies, Chorleywood, Latimer & Little Chalfont and further afield.

Since settling in Chenies Nan has organized over 15 exhibitions at the school.  In 2007 over £4,600 of paintings were sold - the profits donated equally to the School and Watford Hospice.
